Hey cosplayers!

So, I find myself with a bit of a conundrum. I'm really upping the stakes on my cosplay this year as Poison from her appearance in Street Fighter x Tekken. I've joined two wigs together for extra volume, and it's cut and layered perfectly to fit her hairstyle. The only problem is that the wig needs to flare out at the ends.

Now I've tried a couple of different methods with curlers and hot water in the past with another wig, but it always ends up curling awkwardly rather than flaring out. I'd like to avoid hair glue if possible. I want the wig to have exaggerated flares, but I want it to look less spiky and more natural. Any suggestions, oh wonderful wig experts?

id use got2b... i kno u dont want to but its the only way ull get that shape and hold

The only way you're going to get it to look like Poison's hair is hairspray and styling glue (I'd suggest got2b as well). Most Poisons just leave their wigs limp though.

Fair enough! I know most Poisons just let the hair hang down, but that's why I want to branch out, be creative.

I'll give it a shot with the got2b product. I assume if I don't use it too hardcore, I can get a fairly natural looking style out of it. Well... as natural as bright pink hair can look.

With that hair spray, you are right, you don't want to go hardcore on the wig lol I suggest holding the area up with one hand, then dpray with the other hand, then put the spray down and grab your blow dryer (still holding the wig up) then use the dryer on the sprayed part to help keep it's style and set faster

Right there with you, I personally can't stand when people take a character that is supposed to have huge hair and then leave it limp. A good example is Sakuya from .hack//Quantum. I really want to cosplay her in all her huge pigtail glory but don't want to deal with all the "It's Miku!!!" mixups. Hope it all goes well for you. ^.^ If you goes easy on the hair spray (and start with a high quality wig) it can look fairly natural.
