Fake beards?

I've tried a few different methods for my Salieri cosplay, but the problem is that plain makeup isn't realistic enough, and I typically do the "cutting up black hair" method because it actually does look good as well, but it's SO itchy, and I think I need a better adhesive. (But please don't say lash glue, because it's a bitch to get off!) I've been using a gluestick and hairspray; it works OK, but I imagine there's something better out there.

So, other crossplayers out there, how do you do beards? And if you use the "cutting up hair" method, what adhesive do you go for? (And how to minimize the itchy-ness, or is that just an "unavoidable sideffect", per se?)

What I'm trying to do --> http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ohK5wxrFKd...1600/music.png

Thanks!

Cutting up black hair?

Generally, people tend to use crepe hair with spirit glue as their adhesive. I recently used spirit glue to attach sideburns and can attest to its strength. You'll want to buy some remover or you'll be ripping it off your face later, though.

Fortunately, spirit glue can be found about anywhere, now that it's October --and in small quantities for your own nefarious beard testing needs!

Seconding spirit gum. Though the itchiness may still persist. I had to abort my beard plans halfway through NDK because I couldn't stand the itchiness of both beards I applied.

Even my real beard itches in the stubble phase, thats just one of the things that comes with a beard. I second crepe hair and spirit glue. I have used it to expand on what I already have. With a little practice, it can look pretty good.
