Hawkeye Bow help
So I'm trying to put together a Fem!Hawkeye costume/outfit for Halloween, though may be actually used for a makeshift cosplay for a future con, but has more a fashion-y flare to it, seen here: http://www.polyvore.com/hawkeye_comi...te&id=51260990
however I'm been mainly interested in just adding a bow to the whole ensemble since without no one might not know who I am lol. Anyway, to those with prop making ability or experience I was wondering if it would be better to purchase a bow, or possibly build one? If I were to "build" one or make one from scratch, I did this western themed bow, along with some basic arrows in Party City. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...0-14184727.jpg But then again I have seen some pretty niceee looking bows from cosplayers that have been purchased online, so I'm just not sure about which route to take. Help/suggestions please ![]() |

Depends how much trouble you're willing to go through really.

The wooden bow isn't a bad starting point. You could stain or paint the wooden and wrap the grip in some faux leather.
Cosplayers usually make their bows out of foam to make sure that they are con safe. if you're thinking about wearing it to a convention in the future, check the convention rules about weapons. it varies from con to con. some might allow a wooden base, some might not. |
