Anime Club activities!

Any suggestions of activities for my school anime club?

Well, what you can do depends on your resources.

How long are you club meetings? Do you have a computer, or the internet available to you? How many people are in your club, and how much space do you have? Are you able to be a little louder/active with your games?

Our meetings are 2 and a half hours with access to the internet and we can be loud.

Anime viewing parties, trade bentos, anime swap (swap anything anime-related), play games from animes?

If there's any conventions around you, maybe take a club trip on a weekend to check it out. Besides that, I guess watch anime :/

When I ran an Anime Club, we regularly had Bad Anime Nights, wherein we showed episodes of anime that were so bad they were funny. We also regularly had game nights, where we'd bring in the Wii and an XBox and hook them up to the wall projectors and play hilarious party games. Like Warioware.

We also did cosplay photoshoots and tried to have mini drawing competitions.

Swap meets and DDR sessions might have been fun, if we'd gotten around to them.

We've done a few contests. Fan-fic contests, three-panel contests, art contests. Some members have had meeting long presentation on stuff like drawing tutorials, cosplay tips, con etiquette. And anime viewing.

And we play a lot of the ninja game and fruit's basket.

My local library's club has a lot of newer, younger members who like the idea of cosplay, but lack a lot of the technical knowledge. We like 'open shop' sort of meetings, where everyone will bring whatever he/she individually wants to work on, but the more experienced cosplayers often offer advice to others who have questions. It sorts of winds up being a work session and a Q&A in one!

My university's anime club often had a couple of different activities in addition to the showings.
Some of them include:

- Video games (the club often booked 2 separate rooms, one for anime viewing and another for video games)
- Table-top games (a popular one was mahjong at my anime club)
- Raffles (would depend on your budget and your school's policies, though)
- Trivia games
- Karaoke contests
- Manga sharing
- At Halloween, cosplay/costume contests
