I know a lot of the Vocaloids have their fingernails painted. (Meiko would be red, Luka is usually blue to match her eyes, Miku has teal, Rin/Len yellow, etc.) but is it really an important aspect to the cosplay? Or is it fine to leave that little detail out?

Wow I was just made aware Luka wears blue nail polish. I always thought it was pink.

I personally believe it's very important, especially for Vocaloid, since they rarely show up without painted nails. Also, since it usually isn't much of a hassle to just go into your local drugstore/pharmacy and buy some cheapy nail polish to use, it shouldn't be too hard of the part of the cosplay to complete either.

On the other hand, I also think it'd depend. If you were going to a convention, I'd say it wouldn't really matter, but if you were planning a photoshoot, nail polish would be best.

Anyway, I think for Vocaloids, it is important to have the nail color. It is a signature part of the design(unless you are doing a song where there is no nail polish on the fingers). I agree with Kokoro that it wouldn't be much of a hassle to buy cheap drugstore nailpolish(I would say go for the sinful colors brand).

I saw Luka's nailpolish as blue once in a video. Maybe it is pink in others.....

Anyway, thank you for the advice! I only ask this in case I decide not to wear gloves for Meiko's costume (if I do, well, you wouldn't see her nails anyway, so there'd be no need).
