Miku Odango/Double Bun Wig Help

Hey all! I'm currently working on this costume right now:

and need some help on the wig. I've been looking up some tutorials and suggestions for wigs and I have two questions:

1) Is using the "stub and styrofoam ball" method gonna be strong enough for this wig or should I figure something out using clip-ons? I've seen it used in Sailor Moon and Chibi Moon costumes but I'm afraid that the buns for this Miku hair would be too heavy and maybe make the wig sag.

2) And regardless of whichever method, should I go about getting clip ons (thinking of getting this one, any good reviews?: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vocaloid-Hat...em20c48f f6c2 ) and modifying it into a stub or bun clip-on or is it better to just get a regular long and straight blue wig and cut off the long hair to make the buns?

I hope that made sense. Thanks!

I think you can stub an Arda Chibi in Teal and then add two Hairbuns (or Odango Braids if you want some texture) in the matching colour. Ocean Green also looks like a nice colour, but doesn't have hairbuns of any kind.

I was planning on going that route (maybe with the hair buns instead of the odango braids) but I feel like that Teal is too blue. Wish they had the buns in ocean green =(

^ If you really love the Ocean Green colour you can make your own buns and harvest fibers from one long clip on instead.

You don't have to buy pre-made round shapes but instead carve the foam into the shape you want and then hallow it out.

Personally I though Teal was bang on for the figure as Ocean Blue is darker then teal but in the same colour family.

Thanks for all your suggestions! I decided to go with the arda wigs due to some time constraints. Just finished them up this morning and it looks cute!

The only problem is.....
I fitted the buns on (hot glue, then sewed it on) when it was on my wig head (which is obvs smaller than my head). The wig barely fits my head now! As you can see, the wig is far above my hairline and the same goes for the back and sides. Thankfully I can just pull the wig back and cover any hairs with the fringe but there's still hairs sticking out the back. Makes me think I should've just bought the long clip on and made it using the foam method.
