How to dye faux suede?

I have knee high faux suede boots that are currently orange, and I would like them to be a red/maroon.

Should I just get fabric dye? like Ritz?

Normal fabric dye will probably not work. There is polyester dye, but it requires effectively boiling the fabric so that may ruin your boots.

Shoe repair shops may be able to dye them.

As a last resort you could try floral spray; it might stiffen the suede finish but if nothing else works...

Or you could just make boot covers.

i dont know if this will help but have you tought of useing sandpaper before dieing them as this might help the color to cling to the fabric
