What is considered funny?
When assembling a comedy skit, how would one classify something as funny?
Literally I wouldn't know funny if it smacked across the face as I have no sense of humor. So what does one classify as funny?

From my point of view, and what I've seen a lot when searching the "What to do, and what not to do" skit thread: It's something everyone can understand. I mean, without so many "inside jokes" between friends or from the fandom you're doing the skit on. Also, it'd be better to not over-do the joke you mention. Or it'll just lose that spark.

"Funny" really depends on one's point of view. For example what I find funny, you might find plain. What you find funny I might find "meh". Avoid the inside jokes between you and your friends, the ones that only the fans of the show will understand, and hope.

"funny" is subjective so don't stress over coming up with something that would be entertaining to everyone. If you're stuck on what type of humor would work as a skit watch stuff like SNL or MADtv to get ideas on how to possibly structure a comedy skit and then apply relevance to your cosplay characters. Sometimes just observational humor works too because it's not anime or storyline specific that the general public would understand and find "funny".
Also, don't feel you NEED to write a funny skit for a masquerade. It's actually refreshing to see someone act out a serious scene rather then resorting to online memes, viral songs, or slapstick gags.
