Need help with Isshin

Hello people,

I recently finished all parts of my cosplay, I'm doing Isshin Kurosaki and going to akicon (Czech Republic) in 1 week, I have problem joining two parts.

The picture : Click

As you can see from the picture, Isshin from Bleach has shoulder protector that holds the cloak on his back. I don't have any kinds of shoulder protectors, or pieces of metal that I could make one from. I tried tying the cloak on my shoulder, but it doesn't really look good, it creases and lifts my sleeve of kimono and it also falls down to the side as I move my arm.

Could you possibly advise me how to, or using what to tighten the cloak to my shoulder so I can move freely and wave with my katana? I'll be thankful for any advice.

Thank you.

One option would be to just make the shoulder protector. Look up some craft foam armour tutorials, there are plenty out there! Craft foam is very cheap and can produce some fantastic and durable results.

Another option is to attach some sort of elastic around the shoulder.
