Wings and Tail help?

So I am really REALLY wanting to Cosplay as Flygon for Anime North, and maybe even Con-G if it's finished, but I've never used a sewing machine, nor can I hand sew, and I need wings and a tail, and possibly to make the rest of my costume,
Do any of you guys know of any tutorials that can help me?
My mom can probably help with the sewing part, but as far as making wings/tails, I'll need help just knowing what to get and how to make it.

If you can help that'd be lovely!

Do you have a specific design in mind? Perhaps your avatar pic?

well for the tail i would say make out of fabric and stuff. add in loops at the base of the tail big enough you can put a belt threw (or in this case make a green sash you can tie around your waist.) try to use a material that's pretty strong, since if you make one of the same material as the tail it could rip and that would suck xD

mmmm but for the wings would you want them up or down? :O
