Vampire Hunter hat?
Not really a "how to make" more so, where to find.
I'm looking for a specific style of hat that is usually worn on Vampire Hunting Characters. The hat Vampire Hunter D, Van Hellsing (movie), and Marisa Kirisame (TouhouVania) wears. Obligatory Reference image: http://static.zerochan.net/Kirisame....ll.1251119.jpg I'm just looking for that general style of hat (without the ruffles in this case), and of higher quality. I don't mind dropping good money on a good hat. Thanks! EDIT: Updated reference pic that works- http://www.zerochan.net/1251119

I bought one from Party City for like ten bucks. It's not perfect but it's pretty close. You could build up the top with stiff felt (or craft foam even) if you wanted it to be closer to Van Helsing, or build out the brim if you wanted it to be closer to D.
I think it was called "cowboy hat" ha ha. http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...18056400_o.jpg http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...86432985_n.jpg

Your reference photo didn't work. Judging from the other posters photos, no, it's not a Cowboy hat, but Party City would call it that.
The hat in the photo I would call a Gaucho, flat, wide round brim, medium height straight crown with no creases. Various Zorro depictions almost always have him in a Gaucho hat, and the music legend Stevie Ray Vaughn adored his Gaucho hat. SRV got his at Texas Hatters world famous for custom making hats: http://www.texashatters.com/ more specific: http://031938a.netsolstores.com/stevierayvaughan.aspx yeah, not cheap..... I know this place personally, their site isn't as fancy but they will work up custom shapes for customers without any trouble: http://www.parishatters.com/western-buffalo-hats.html The Gambler or the Tycoon might work around to the hat you desire fairly easily, and at a much more reasonable price.

Of course the reference image didn't work.... Here, hopefully this one will, I'll update the first post with it as well:
http://www.zerochan.net/1251119 Once again, I don't care about price, even if its cheap at all like that, I don't mind. As long its a quality product.

The Party City one definitely isn't what I would call a "quality product" .. but for my purposes, it was appropriate for occasional costuming.

I'd order from Paris Hatters and attach that picture, you will get exactly that hat. And it will be high quality.
