Hey there everyone! Here's the thread for any and all Touhou Project cosplayers going to KatsuCon!

I'll be going as Alice Margatroid, with my friend as Yoshika Miyako. Who are you planning on being?

We'll also be hosting the photoshoot, so suggestions for days, times, and locations are appreciated!

Sorry I'm late to the party on this! I always forget about posting on CosCom until about a month before a con.

Last year we had two evening shoots, one on Friday behind the main atrium fountains, and one on Saturday at the gazebo. I would suggest either of those again for locations, at least, since I've found the one think the Gaylord lacks is sizable dead ends perfect for photoshoots. Of course, the space behind the fountains tends to be noisy and crowded in general (though, in my experience, the majority of people that congregate there seem to be really good about respecting shoots by at least not getting in the way), and the gazebo is *the* prime location for shoots in the Gaylord, so I would suggest against taking a long time there in the interest of being fair to everyone that wants to use it.

Outside of that, I would actively suggest against anything outside because National Harbor is super windy and that's going to kick a lot of costume ass. (My Aya outfit of cons past was particularly susceptible to the wind, which is one of the greatest injustices in history.)

Days and times? One Friday, one Saturday again should be good, though perhaps having one in the afternoon rather than the evening would be better so we don't have to deal with a nighttime backdrop twice.

Going to second Kilga's entire comment, and for some suggestions for times:

The fountains seem to be free after 3 on Friday, so....how about 5pm at the Fountains on Friday.

As for Saturday, in the past, I don't think that the Gazebo works super-well for the Touhou shoot, given size, but if we want it, probably best to aim later in the day, say around 8?

I'll be bringing KD Reimu and Iku to the con.

Oh~ I'm glad Touhou has a thread! I'll be debuting my Sanae cosplay at Katsu this year and I'd love to go to a gathering! The ones at Otakon were so much fun, so I'm looking forward to Katsu's :3

I agree about the locations mentioned above, though with outside locations, I did a big group cosplay last year and part of our photoshoot was taken outside, in the area right outside from where that large dancing fountain thingy is, and we didn't have any wind there at all! We did freeze our thigh highs off though =w=; But, just a suggestion! I think its decently blocked off from wind back there, but I suppose that's always subject to change ^^;

My Reisen isn't done yet, but I'll definitely be there to photograph the cosplays. Let me know if anyone wants a quick personal photoshoot of their costumes~

I'd love to attend another Touhou photoshoot! Went to both shoots at Otakon. Maybe I can make some time once the times are planned.

If you have somewhere that's shielded from wind, I'd be for it! I (personally) can and will deal with cold, so that's not an issue.

I just didn't think wind-shielded places actually existed on Nat'l Harbor. :X

I think 8pm Saturday should work fine. As for the Friday photoshoot, are there any objections if I suggest that we make the time a bit later? Like, anytime after 7pm?

I should be able to attend at least one of the shoots. I have a private shoot at 5:15. But I should be there afterwards!
Also, any chance that the Friday shoot could be 6PM-ish??

My friend redirected me here after she spotted it, glad to see other touhouers coming! ^^ I'll be bringing Byakuren and Yukari, and as long as it's not between 12 and 2 on saturday, I can definitely make any shoot plans.
