You'd be surprised how a little contouring/highlighting can really transform your face and improve your photos. It's a skill I think everyone who is interested in having good shots of their cosplay should learn, it's very simple and the reward is so worth it.

I love make-up. I use it for cosplay and everyday life. I apply more for cosplay so that it all blends and all and hides every little thing I don't like. I'm actually looking to invest in an airbrush make-up kit for cosplay. It seems like the next logical step for me, especially if I do some characters that require more body make-up.

Cosplay is the only reason that I own makeup. Haha, seriously though. I had never purchased any makeup until I decided to cosplay and then I went out and bought some. Partially to cover up my freckles and partially to just make the cosplay look more awesome. Even if the character has a really natural look, you can always do natural looking makeup.

Even though I am a girl I really hate make-up, I only really wear it for cosplaying (but I wear it with every cosplay). The thing is you don't have to wear a lot unless the character you are cosplaying does, usually just the basics will do.

I pretty much only wear make-up for cosplays and/or other unique clothing/fashion styles at cons when I don't feel like cosplaying but still want to look costume-y.
When I started cosplaying I refused to wear any make-up because I thought of it as a "girl's thing" and that it was nothing for me when I'm transgender male... but at some point I tried on powder foundation (or whatever that stuff is called which evens out your skintone) because mom suggested it would make my skin look better and it went from that. Now I at the very least use foundation and depending on the character I will add eyeliner if needed and some other stuff. I can't put on a cosplay without make-up to a con anymore; I just think it looks like the potential is wasted (it looks unfinished?) or something, like it could have been a lot better with just some simple make-up tricks.

Always always. There's such a huge difference between make up and bare skin that there's no question in it for me.

I always wear it when cosplaying. If I'm going to put all that work into my costume, then I want to look my absolute best.

I got bad skin allergies to many makeup brands and I have high blood pressure so not only will my skin break out but the makeup would dry up or show up bad due to my body heating up all the time. Besides they don't really make makeup dark enough for my skin...

I could not imagine walking out in cosplay without makeup. It just makes... such a big difference. Even if you are doing a character that looks natural, or doing a male, you have to put on something. Makeup makes a huge difference with cosplay.

Yup always some makeup. I'm not too skilled in it, per-say..
But I always try to apply a bit of eyeliner. And if I'm doing a character that requires face/body paint, makeup is always a must ;]

Lately I've been using makeup more at conventions..and by 'makeup' I mean just tinted lotion xD It helps my face be less shiny, plus it helps to even out my skin tone. I remember last year I attempted (very briefly might I add) to apply mascara before a con. It did not go so well :B I'm not used to using stuff like that, so it ended up frustrating me and I just gave up. I'll probably try to use it again sometime in the future, but since I have dark eyelashes it's not really a necessity anyway. Once or twice last year before a con I tried using eye shadow, but since I wear glasses it isn't as noticeable as it normally would be..I guess if you got right in my face you could see it though xD

For everyday, I'll only wear mascara, powder, and highlighter, but for conventions I know that there will be pictures taken of me, so I always wear a "full face" of makeup (foundation, concealer, blush, bronzer, highlighter, eyeshadow/liner, mascara, eyebrows, lipstick/gloss/balm etc. etc.) no matter who I am cosplaying.
