Women's razors

Ok so did anyone else notice that many women's razors handles are scented? So I googled it and I couldn't find the reason why. Or am I just crazy? Does anyone know why?
Too off topic for the off topic forum?

Because ladies need scented everything.

Pads are scented. Why not razors?

Next, car keys.

Soon, everything.

It's quite simple, really; since losing hair is unnatural, when people shave off body hair their sense of smell sharpens to compensate (it makes it easier to smell places where people have been sweating and other potentially warm areas). Thus by providing a consistent scent the razor allows you to tell when to shave based on how easily you can smell it. I made that up completely.

Use a men's razor then.

Same thing, less pink and smelly.

I don't use scented anything. The smells irritate my sinuses and if it's a lotion or soap, it'll irritate my skin.

The shavers I buy are unscented. And yes, feminine products come in scented and unscented.

I have an electric razor. And I can't use scented pads. They're unnecessary anyway - just shower and wash your lady bits.

Because the companies that make them think it'll sell better. A razor is a razor. They feel the need to do something else to market it. Hence the unnecessary scent.

Yup.

Those little flowers, and the word fresh? That's stupid speak for 'scented pads for your cooter'.

A lot of panty liners are scented too. So much so that I've had to take a serious hard look around to find some that aren't. Which is actually kind of bad because using scented pads/panty liners consistently is actually bad for your lady bits.

Fun info time:

Your lady bits maintain their own PH balance to be all squeaky clean and stuff. That's why you don't go rubbing a bar of soap all up your crotch, it would mess up the natural stuff your bits are used to doing since forever. Using scented pads/liners ALL the time can muck up that balance and cause an infection. The chemicals that cause them to be scented is all up in your bits and pieces so some ladies get irritated from it.

And that was Emily's guide to scented pads.

Ugh, it sucks that you have a hard time finding unscented ones. In all the drug stores I visit, only half the brands (or less) are scented. That having been said, I've still bought scented by acident at least twice.

It's not necessarily bad once in a while, and if you haven't had any issues then you should be okay. It's just if you where to use scented products throughout the length of your period consistently and then maybe go and use scented pantyliner's it could cause an infection or irritation.

It's not really ignorant so don't worry about it, it's not something we're told about when we're young. I think perhaps scented products like that are a fairly new thing so it wasn't ever an issue in the past? -shrug-
