New here! Could use a little help.
So I realize this is way in advance, but I'm looking for costume ideas for New York Comic Con 2013. I've also never done this before so I definitely would not want to embarrass myself too much! Also, I'd like to work with what I've been given, meaning wouldn't want to have to do a drastic change to make the costume work.
So a little about me. I'm 5' 9" 165 lbs and extremely hairy (chest, arms and legs, luckily not on back!), dark brown hair, blue or green eyes (They are hazel meaning they change) and I have an athletic build. I'm hoping to get bigger in the next year so that would work in my favor for finding a good cosplay I think. I can provide pictures if it helps. My first thought was Darius from FMA, but I feel like noone will know who I am haha. Thoughts? Help? |

Darius is fine so long as you wear his uniform.
Have you considered doing a ginjinka?

@hallowin was hoping for someone a little bulkier since I plan on putting quite abit of mass. (and I already thought of wolverine but that seems a little cliche)

Wolverine was my first thought, but you're right, cliche. Gimli from Lord of the Rings, perhaps? Would be a bit complicated, as there's a lot of armor, but could be cool.

I have to say, you have such a wonderful Medieval look, I would go for characters that are similar.
Second the Wolverine post. Also, Kili from "The Hobbit". Renly or Robert Baratheon from Game of Thrones Rider from Fate/Zero Tony Stark |

Well do you want a classic character that's well known? or one that a little more obscure but known enough? Because for a classic I'd say Ryu from Street fighters for the obscure stick with your 1st choice.
Edit: you could also pull of male default Hawke from Dragon Age 2 if you keep the beard.

Oh my god I do kind of look like wreck it Ralph haha
Wolverine is kind of a given, but wanted to see if I can do something a little more outside the box haha. And for that reason I really like the Bolin and Rider from Fate/Zero. I like the Hawke from Dragon Age 2 Idea a lot too! Though I think that one would be super difficult. And for Ryu I'd have to shave which is a TERRIBLE idea. /cringe |
