The Commissioner and Merchant Review Thread

No Soliciting Customers or Commissioners, please. This is not a Private Eye service, so if you have a question pertaining to an unlisted seller, please pay a visit to the Commissioners NOT to go to thread. Conversation and questions you believe could be helpful to others who may have the same concerns are welcome; drama is not. This is open to eBay transactions. Commissioner Reviews If you wish to provide a commissioner review, please submit the following information: Name of Commissioner Website/C.com gallery Character commissioned and series/video game (please include if this was the entire costume, just a jacket, prop, accessory, wig, etc.) Links to picture(s) of your commissioned item Timeline (how long your order took to process) Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments. Final Grade: Please ONLY submit a review if you have personally commissioned this person. While it is kind to try and boost recommendations for your friends or family members, this thread is meant as a transaction review ONLY; those who are not past customers need not apply. This is a source based solely on fact, not rumors. Recommended Grading system: A +/- This is for an undeniably excellent commissioner; no communication complications, no construction error or accuracy inconsistencies; someone you, personally, feel confident in working alongside and intend to again in the future. B +/- While they bore the attributes on an excellent commissioner, they bear areas which could use improvement. Either communication had a habit to lag, a size was slightly off (not due to ill-measurements) or accuracy was not up to par with what you had believed they were capable of; still recommended as they bear possibility of improvement, but will likely excel at smaller tasks. C +/- Not a commissioner you would readily recommend unless the circumstance was dire. Communication was weak, prices seemed unreasonable and it's possible a deadline was slightly missed. Construction quality might have been questionable and accuracy could have a noticeable flaw. D +/- Reconsider approaching this commissioner. Either deadlines were missed completely, construction was shoddy or accuracy was barely attempted. Communication was quite possibly nonexistent, prices were likely ridiculous considering the results; this is someone to be cautioned against. F +/- Do NOT approach this commissioner under any circumstances. If you provide a review and wish to change it, to update a picture or whatnot, please edit the original post you made to avoid confusion. She was very good with keeping up with my stupidity when it came to paypal. She was amazing when it came down to sizing and everything was well. I was happy to accept her finished work. Con: Unfortunately, some things aren't accurate. The vest is a little to light and missing a few things, plus they are missing the studs on the ends of the collar. the undershirt wasn't made to accuracy as it didn't open from the bottom and top. The pants were an off color and too tight. Comments: She is very fair for what she asks. The costume itself is nearly indestructable and takes a good beating. I wore it for 4 days and wear parts of it as normal fashion. Final Grade: B- [I don't have a picture of me wearing it except in others galleries. XDD]

www.geminatevisions.net I got a pair of boot covers made for my Earth forces Soldier from moble suit gundam . I don't have any pictures because I don't have a digital camera yet. If I find my picture from a convention I will post them. I don't remeber how long it took but she got them done in a timely matter, months before I needed them. Pro: The material that she used was beyond my expectation! I didn't know much about fabrics, so I asked her to use something that would match my costume. She used a really thick vinyl and it was absolutely perfect! Con: A bit slow to respond to emails but that's expected. But usually she replies within 24 hours. Comment: She demonstrated that she knew her stuff and what she was doing. She really pays attention to detail so I am also commissioning her for another costume. I would recommend her for anyone who is anal about details. Final grade: A |

The costume is absolutely lovely, everything is nicely serged and finished! It holds up well and everything looks very professional. Great price as well. She definately got the fabric choice on this dress down. The puff stays puffed and the ruffles stay ruffled. I've worn the hat as casual wear for... 2 years now? And it still looks great! Cons: The sizing was a bit off. I use 27 inch waist for all of my measurements and for some reason the waist on this turned out loose. Also, while the dress was absolutely amazing, the mittens and paws look like they were an afterthought, just kind of thrown together at the last second. (In cream instead of white, no less) But we just made a new set and all was well. Comments: The worksmanship and material choice was marvelous. I wouldn't hesitate to get another costume from her in the future! Just as a note, while the costumes are great on their own, she designs them to be worn with a full petticoat. If you do not already own one, you will need one or the dress will look very... Flat. Final Grade: A- ~Ari-chan

Pros: I was a bit skeptical on ordering costumes from overseas, especially from Hong Kong/China since there are so many horrible stories about bad commissions. But this costume was AMAZING! The fabric quality is 100% polyester and is very nice. Everything is accurate and you get almost the full costume for a very decent price! Cons: I really can't seem to find any cons to this costume or store except for maybe the socks it came with were too short and is not knee-length like the actual costume, but I think that's very minor. I just went to Target and bought some knee-length black socks and all was well ^_^ Comments: They have good communication and you get a tracking number after the package is sent so you can keep track of where the package is, though the owner doesn't tell you where the site is but I found it on Google. It's through the Hong Kong Post site (http://app1.hongkongpost.com/CGI/mt/...egistered_ouw). I will definitely recommend this shop to any cosplayers and I will most likely order from them again in the future. Final Grade: A-

Cons: Emails were occasionally a little slow, but it is understandable considering how busy she is. Comments: I would not hesitate at all to commission another costume from her in the future. Her work is absolutely breathtaking. I would especially recommend her for any cosplayers who want some beautiful, but comfortable armor. Final Grade: A+

Pros: Her outfits are made with the right choice of fabric. She really nice and respond emails fast. Cons: Her pics are just the same as the other sellers who steal pics. she sometimes confuses the measurements. However, she does make the outfits like the pics she has. Also shipping sometimes is expensive. Comments: The whole outfit was Great. The details and zipper on the arms where exactly like Misato's jacket. The hat fit perfectly, and the dress was made with the right material like the jacket. The only problem i got was the collar of the dress, was one inch bigger then what i said. But thats it. Final Grade: A-
