Teens interested in Steampunk

Any other teenagers interested out there? Post where you are from and what you are working on. I'm Jay from Chicago, IL and I'm currently working on an airballon saleswoman/pilot. I'm also 18 by the way.

I was going to say that I have a friend that is...but she's not a teenager anymore. I have to keep remembering that. We have several in our group that like steampunk, but none of us are teenagers any longer...some much farther away from it (me...nearly 30...) than others.

I've always been interested in steampunk but with all my cosplays I haven't had time to tackle a costume!
I'm 17, btw, and live in Dekalb, IL. c:

I'm very interested in Steampunk. I'm 17 in Dublin, GA. I haven't gotten anything steam punky. What are the 'career' choices you can base your character off of? I didn't know there were certain things.

A lot of people create costumes using the persona approach. First, think of what you want to be. Then think how you would have gotten there. What is your background, education, family, etc. Next, figure out what tools you would use to do your job. This seems to be a good approach for making a costume. The only thing limiting you is your imagination.

Hey everyone

I've been interested in Steampunk for a while now though I haven't gotten a costume put together. I've just been wearing steampunk style accessories just in my everyday life.

I've been wondering if i could use this dress for a costume but I'm not too sure... I ordered it for a Victorian Lolita cosplay.

Ontario, Canada. My name is Lilly, 19.

For those of you who mentioned you're from Ontario. I'm posting these just in case you are not aware of them. (Or for anyone else who may be interested)..

Toronto Steampunk Society:
http://www.thesteampunkempire.com/gr...eampunksociety

Steampunk Canada:
http://www.steampunkcanada.ca/

They host alot of steampunk themed events and attend cons in the fashion.

I hope this is helpful to anyone.
Cheers

P.S. Costume-Con will have a steampunk element too including competitions.

Thank you, Kaijugal! that was a lovely post!

also, Lilly.of.dreams, that dress could make a cute base for a steampunk outfit, as long as you paired it with the proper accessories, perhaps a shoulder jacket with buckles and bell-sleeves? and earth-tone striped tights, how about vertical stripes? a steampunk gun in a garter holster, and a fancy hat would defiantly help!
