RULES:
1) You have to be an active member

2) $30 maximum. Gifts should include a homemade element if possible. A note may also be a nice touch

3) Please post any interests or preferences you have (and I'll update this post as needed)

4) if you cannot ship internationally please say so and I will fudge it so you get someone from your country

5) Please send me an Email - it may be easier the PMs. And I will start a master list of Email Addresses (I can do this for mail addresses as well. No one will see your address except me and the person sending your gift. I promise I'm not a stalker and will give you my address if that will make you feel more comfortable)

6) Gifts should be mailed no later than the first week of January. (1/5/13 would be ideal. Possibly earlier if you're shipping internationally)

I agree that a specific dollar amount should be set.

Especially if these are to be personal made items I think it would be appropriate so some eager beaver doesn't send out a life-size prop replica and gets a tun of muffins in return. Not that a tin of muffins is bad. Just an enormous cost difference.

For example, say that nothing should cost or be valued at over $30 (or more or less depending on what everyone would agree on).

Obviously value on an individual level of receiving a personalized gift is not something that can be measured monetarily, but as a rounded general idea of what everyone should stay in the ballpark of.

I just want you to know that I am going to draw a picture of Batman on a date with a Narwal. I don't care who I pick. That's what you get.

Limit it to people who are somewhat known on here and you reduce by a lot the chances of shit happening to begin with.

It may be a little more appropriate to keep with including users who are frequent on this particular board and at least have a general knowledge of one another. For one I think it will assist in being able to figure out the kind of gift they would enjoy and I think it would help to prevent Random Bro/Broette from -thread we never go on- using the Secret Santa as a way to get something for free and having no connection to anyone here they feel no obligation to give anything in return.

That said, who would be the deciding individual on who is and is not included? Luna?
