Hwoarang Cosplay - Need Help

I've decided I want to cosplay Hwoarang for the next big Con here in Sweden.

I chose Hwoarang from Tekken 6. Even though it would probably be much easier with the first version from Tekken 3, I find that one boring.

Here is some pics of the cosplay.

I haven't started making anything yet but i've been thinking how I should do this.
I'm also a kind of perfectionist so I'm gonna try make this real good. I got about 7 months until the big con.

I would want some tips on How I should take ways to construct this. The boots, the Pants, especially with the details. It don't have to be super exact but I mean, I want it to look good. I'm also working on my own body structure for this. I'm pretty serious about it.

Any tips would be awesome, so please and thank you

He's wearing jeans with very fancy leather chaps over them. Find a motorcycle dealership and go look at some real chaps for the general idea. The major advantage to chaps is the hardest part of pants sewing, the crotch, isn't included, making them pretty easy. You might be able to buy a pair and add the fancy bits, but not likely, the scalloped edges up the legs are just not something you see in most chaps.
Boots are pretty easy really, it's just a matter of decorating the toes of standard work boots.
Nothing is impossible, but some things are very expensive.

My Etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/penlowe I make non-fitted custom things to ship within the continental US. I only do fitted garments for those whom I can meet in person.
