Slipknot Mask, Help?

Planning on doing Slipknot cosplay of Chris Fehn next year, need some suggestions on ways I could make his mask?

A friend said to do paper mache, don't think that'd work very well considering having to using a zipper for the mouth, and I'm new to costume making so any help is appreciated. uvu

Actually you could make it out of paper mache.

Just make a space for the mouth for later where the fabric and zipper will be.
