Note: Whole-Wheat is the same thing as Whole-Grain. It's just simply telling you which grain you are getting whole.

Whole grain is better for you because it has...well the entire grain. And because of that has essential fatty acids and b-vitamins, starch (carbohydrate), and fiber. Multi-grain isn't bad for you...but can be composed of several refined grains...so you lose some of the nutrients you get from whole-grain, but it may taste a little better, or at least gives you a variety of tastes on account of several grains mixed together.

ok, thanks guys

See I gain 10 sizes in the winter and I'm trying to be healthy this year (and I've been eating a lot of DD english muffins with PB and J for a month straight and then I wondered if I should switch to the multi-grain flatbreads

I just wanna say that in general that is really unhealthy. If it's just because you eat more your should really try to eat less. But if your body just does that without you changing your lifestyle you should see a doctor.

Whole grain is the entire grain, bran and all, and can be any grain.
Multi-grain is not necessarily whole grain, and can be any grain.
Whole Wheat is the entire grain, bran and all, and is specifically wheat.

Oh, and I should mention that not all whole grain/ multi-grain /whole wheat foods are equal. Since the USDA and FDA is kind've lax on the guidelines for labeling it, it could have a minimal amount of that kind of flour in the batch (say 3 cups whole wheat flour in a 10 cup batch). So, even if it's labeled whole blah-blah, it may not be much better. Be sure to check the ingredients listing beforehand. Remember, the ingredients are mandated to be in listing, most weight to least (yes, it's by weight, not by volume).
