Exclamation Legend of Zelda costume help!

My best guy friend and I are thinking of going to a con and cosplaying as Link and Zelda from Twilight Princess. But the only time I've cosplayed, I cheated and bought my costume. I need some SERIOUS help if I'm gonna make these costumes. I don't know where to start, or even if I have to make them. I mean, if my last cosplay was nice and I bought it, would it be a good or bad decision to buy Link/Zelda outfits? I just need help.

Buying/commissioning a costume is not cheating. If you've never tackled making these kinds of things before, I'd suggest different Link and Zelda outfits for your debut. The DS and N64 game designs are easier projects to make, and they will give you much needed experience. Even Skyward Sword has easier designs to make. The TP outfits won't seem quite so overwhelming after a practice set of cosplays.

Check out the Zelda forum on this site for specific advice. Or the General Construction forums for singular questions (i.e. pattern/material for this dress, how to make this sword, which wigs, etc.)
Otherwise you can commission the TP outfits, although it will cost you guys a tidy sum.

Just my two cents...

I agree with everything said above!

These are very complex costumes. I've been costuming for 7 years and I'm just now gonna try conquering TP zelda.

If you wanna try making them go for it but if you don't feel ready for them just get them commissioned. (:

Thanks guys!! I think we might do Skyward Sword instead. I didn't realize how intricate the Twilight Princess costumes are. Really glad to find that out now rather than later.
