Top Ten Vidya of 2012
So what's your list now that the year is done and no more games are coming out? I found that making the list this year was a lot harder. Last year with Skyrim and Bastion and Saint's Row 3 out, the top of the heap just seemed so obvious. This year, I had a lot of trouble breaking it down.
Anyway, my personal top ten: Now in video form 10: Skullgirls 9: Dragon's Dogma 8: Syndicate 7: Dishonored 6: Fez 5: XCOM 4: The Walking Dead 3: Mark of the Ninja 2: Persona 4: Arena 1: Journey

9. Code of Princess 8. Akai Katana 7. Persona 4 Arena 6. Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy 5. Kid Icarus: Uprising 4. Dragon's Dogma 3. Tokyo Jungle 2. Max Anarchy 1. Chivalry: Medieval Warfare >a pretty-looking hipster game, a bunch of Japcrap, and a surprise #1 pick (Note: I'm not trying to say Journey is bad, seeing as I did put it somewhere on my top 10. Admittedly, I still need to finish the game.)

Crap, just realized, I still need to play my copy of Borderlands 2... I picked it up just days before I bought Chivalry, and due to the latter devouring all of my time, I haven't even touched the former yet. Damn.

Only a couple for me as well.
1. Far Cry 3 2. Persona 4 Golden 3. Persona 4 Arena 4. Transformers: Fall of Cybertron 5. Medal of Honor: Warfighter 6. Skullgirls. Honorable mention to Katawa Shoujo since that's a visual novel, and not a video game. And I'd probably have Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story, and/or Theatrhythm Final Fantasy somewhere on there if I actually had a Wii.

I didn't play a lot of games that came out this year, but my favorites were:
1. XCOM: Enemy Unknown 2. Mass Effect 3 3. Borderlands 2 4. Orcs Must Die! 2 5. Diablo III 6. Forza Horizon 7. Skylanders: Giants ...and everything else I played this year came out in 2011, sooooo yeah. I'm currently playing a couple of new titles from this year but haven't gotten far enough to put them on a best of list. Also Skylanders because I worked on it, ok. That is a sad list. I want to get back into playing more games.  |

Yeah, it's hard for me to rank things because it's sort of like comparing apples and oranges. I guess my two favorites that came out this year were Journey and Mass Effect 3. I really enjoyed Fez, but some of the puzzles were just too esoteric. I loved the Dark Souls DLC which I thought was exactly what DLC should be. Theatrhythm was by far my favorite handheld game.
Other people's lists have reminded me that I should play Dragon's Dogma. |

I um, honestly didn't play a lot of games that came out this year besides 3DS and Wii U lol. I missed out on a lot of games that I want to play, and I'll pick them up later. I've been dealing some crap in my life lately and haven't really prioritized gaming.
So with that said, this might change later, but my game of the year at the moment is Theatrhythm lol. I mean, holy crap, according to my activity log, I've put more hours into that game than actual RPGs that I've completed! |

To be honest, I don't usually buy a game until a year or two after it's released, so my top ten is games I bought and played this year, but they didn't necessarily come out this year. XD
1) Professor Layton & The Curious Village 2) Kirby's Epic Yarn 3) EarthBound 4) Super Mario 64 5) Trauma Center: Second Opinion 6) Katawa Shoujo (I know it's not technically a video game, but still....) 7) Pokemon Black 8) Kirby's Return to Dreamland 9) Pokemon Puzzle League 10) Luigi's Mansion .....wow, this turned out to be a very wonky list. ._.; I got an N64 this year, which should explain some of the older titles. XD Also, this list doesn't include the dozen games I bought this year but haven't had the chance to play. ;A;
