I usually cosplay characters I can relate to --and a part of me loves to perform. Been in theater of some form for ever. I'm a girl, and straight, and happy being a girl. *shrugs* This is the first time I'll be crossplaying, but in regards to my previous cosplays, so far, this has been the easiest in terms of getting inside the character's head. Interestingly, and weirdly enough, Yosuke seems to be my anime doppleganger, even though he's a guy.
I don't know what to do with this.

This is the same reason I crossplay as well. I am a tomboy by nature and honestly don't plan on changing that no matter what, haha. My first few cosplays have actually been crossplays. It's just been recently that I've been actually cosplaying as female characters. I'm trying to cosplay more girls, but I have some strange self-esteem issues of which I feel like I do better crossplaying than cosplaying. Getting in touch with your feminine side is hard stuff, lol. But I try my best! ^^

There's just something fun and exciting about dressing up as the opposite gender (to me, and a ton of other people, I'm sure). It's just the idea of breaking the boundaries and being someone so different from who I am that's ridiculously entertaining.
And also, in many animes, the brash/loudmouth/belligerent characters are usually male - and I find those types of personalities a lot of fun to cosplay! C:
Connecticon (?) (Only Saturday)
Another Anime Convention
Anime Boston

Cosplays: Eijun, Furuya (Daiya no Ace), Kanda Yu (D. Gray Man), Rei (Free!), Fuji Shuusuke, Echizen Ryoma (Prince of Tennis)

It's fun. That's really it for me. It's also interesting to go to more lengths other than just changing clothes.
