I'm lucky enough to have a 2 bedroom apartment, so I converted the second bedroom into a cosplay/computer room, and all of my costumes are hanging in the closet.

However I have lived in places where I was not as fortunate, and I found getting one of those portable closets (you can get them at Wal-Mart) is a huge help, they can hold a lot, and they're covered so they protect against dust and keeps the room looking nice and clean.

I have a plastic container that holds the more 'costume' cosplays, and anything that looks like normal street clothes (Homestuck I'm looking at you) is hanging up in my wardrobe. Wigs are kinda everywhere though ehehehe *sheepish grin*

I have one of those huge plastic tubs where I store most of my cosplay stuff. Wigs, small props, cosplay pieces that I can fold. The cosplays I'm planning to wear soon and the ones that I cannot squish into a box hang in the closet of my sisters' room(I've been kicked to the guest room XD). The bigger props I store in the basement.

Ideally, my cosplays would be hanging in the closet covered by plastic bags with all their parts in a plastic bin and bagged by costume, but the reality is more like... Here's a shirt, there's some pants, there's a jacket hanging off the back of the sewing chair, boots are over there, and wigs hang around my bedroom like lost tribbles.

I store mine pretty much where I have the space. xP I have this clothing rack my mother brought home one day and gave to me. So, I hang most of my cosplays on it. Other parts/accessories/etc are put into some available space in my bureau. And the rest that is too big or just don't have anywhere else to put it is scattered all over my room in any available space. :P

Since my parents are divorced and I live in a tiny apartment with my Dad, I use my Mom's house to keep most of my not-needed-for-a-while and retired pieces.

My wigs are all at my apartment, on heads or in bags on the top of my closet, shoes are kinda scattered, a few costumes are hung in my closet at my apartment, but the rest and the fanciest I keep at Mom's (hanging in garment bags on a door hook or in the dresser, since I don't have a closet after she remodeled the bathroom...).
I also do most of m sewing at her place (again, dirty, tiny, smoke-filled apartment due to my utter slob of a father that I wouldn't dream of sewing more than tiny hand-done pieces in), so my machine, fabric, and most of my supplies and works in progress are kept there if I plan to work on them there.

More current costumes are hanging in the closet of my sewing room. "Retired" and older costumes are in plastic bins either in my sewing room or in the storage space under the stairs, depending on age and whether I will ever wear them again.

Wigs and accessories are in plastic organizers in the sewing room. I should probably get wig heads but I'm lazy and just don't have the shelving space yet.

I don't really keep my costume items in one centralized place, which is probably not the best idea given the amount of extra pieces Jack Sparrow has, but somehow I manage to keep track of everything. I use parts of the costume for daily wear so I never really saw a need to keep it in a specific place.

I either hang them up in garment bags, or store them in a cheap DIY dresser (like IKEA). I tried storing them in boxes, but got fed up with rummaging through them. I can keep 2-4 costumes per drawer in the dresser, which makes everything more managable.

I have a compartment in a shelf that holds all my wigs and most of my cosplay pieces. I have a bag of cosplay shoes under my bed, and one outfirt hanging in my closet just because it is big. Normal looking cosplay things I put in my drawers though if they are things that look like street clothes like shorts and blazers.

I'm probably a terrible person with my cosplay, but I just hang them in the same closet as my clothing but to the far right where I don't access things very often. It's where I keep a lot of dresses and skirts too. Wigs I usually keep in the original packaging they come in(mine never involve a lot of styling) and are on a shelf just above. My shoes on the other hand are kind of scattered everywhere and many are in a spare room in the house in various shoe boxes.

So far all of my costumes hang in my closet, my wigs are on head on the top of my bookshelf and my shoes are where my normal shoes are. I have a feeling that sooner or later I might have to start putting up some more shelves for my wigs.

My family hates cosplay, so right after I return from a con, the cosplayed are neatly folded into a shoe box.
