creating BIG waves

My question is how to make BIG waves in a wig without them being curly.. i own one wig (for louise) that has those (they were already in it) and i have no idea how to do it myself.
I tried a certain way with curling iron and i also tried it with a hot water bottle 3 different ways but nothing happens at all.
So i hope someone can help me out here because i really like waves xD and i need them too.

I've seen people use large size curlers and heat with some great results. You can control how wavy or loose you want the curls with the amount of heat you use (use low heat from a hair dryer if the wig isn't heat resistant).

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for and they do it on human hair but you can translate the techniques over to a wig! http://thebeautydepartment.com/2012/...vintage-waves/

I'm afraid of my waves being curly.. they really shouldn't be , atm i don't have any large size curlers either (yet). Those vintage waves look promising but i'm afraid the curles can't be brushed out...i tried something like that (but messy) on a previous wig and the curles were stubborn.
Sadly the braid didn't do a thing..my wig is still awfully straight its weird... I will try that last method now, i hope there are more suggestions though.
