Sphere Hair?

Ok. I'm wanting to do an Ace Trainer (f) from White 2 (pic), but don't know what to do for the wig. Since I already have a Lulu from Arda wigs in Teal, (pic), I initially thought "Oh, I'll just buy some straight clips and TADA!"... But upon further inspection, her hair appears to be spheres connected together, not curls...

So here are my thoughts.

My first instinct was to get matching heir wefts and somehow gluing them to styrofoam ovals and then somewhow attaching those ovals together and also to the wig. But, obviously, I have no idea how to do that, and if it would look good.

Ghettoing it up and using matching, curly clips that I already have for a different costume and hating my life because that would be lazy and inaccurate.

You can get long straight clips and glue the hair around styrofoam balls all the way down, tying hair ties in between each ball. That way you don't need to worry about attaching the balls together (since they're on the same clip), plus you can curl the very end like in the sprite. I think it would look fine as long as you're careful about gluing the hair on the balls evenly ^^

That's a good idea... However, I don't think the clips would have enough hair to cover everything, but they would probably be a great basis to hold everything together! I think I'll have to buy some wefts no matter what I do.

For more stability, I'd like to have some kind of wire going through the foam... suggestions?

I have to agree with what silver said..
No matter what, yes you will need more wefts, but if you buy some then it turns out you don't have enough, at least you know you can buy more..though, that wig is pretty thick so you shouldn't need to do too much work, and you will want to color the balls the same color as the hair just in case. And yes you can put wire through it, in fact, that's a great idea..Use a thick guaged wire too and connect it to the wig cap then ad the balls on you can even glue them in place before doing any hair stuff to be sure they stay in place..
