Twisty Rope Obi

Hey guys! I would like your opinion on something.

I want to cosplay Togame this year. She's got this belt here:

When I watched the series, I interpreted that belt to be a big twisty rope, but simplified just cause of the style of the anime.
I pictured it more like this:
)

But when I looked up other Togame cosplays, everyone sorta just went with the big, nontwisty rope. (which is fine!!)

MY QUESTION TO YALL:
What do you think Togame's obi is MEANT to look like? I came up with a way to make the sort of twisty rope, but if it turns out that most people think it's just a big long tube than I'd rather just do that, hehe.

The one in the photo below is a version of a traditionally sacred shinto rope (I forget the Japanese term for it) worn on the waist (You can see them worn on sumo wrestlers, as an example, when they're doing their parade around the ring, it holds those skirt things in place)- and to me, yes, I see it as a take on a twisted rope in the above photo. It would be easiest to just make a padded tube with cloth, but I'd personally add in the twist effect.

Yeah, I think it's a twisted rope, too. One option - make two LONG (very long) tubes of fabric, each about 2-3 inches in diameter. Make one in white and one in yellow. Stuff them lightly with polyfil or batting - don't make them too full; you want them decently flexible. Then twist the two together to make a rope - you'll likely have to do a little bit of hand sewing to tack them togethr at various points.
