Alright, so I continued planning out the cosplay and while I've figured out how to get those sharp-edged shoes, I can't put my finger on how I can put together the piece that goes over the majority of the leg/ calf- area. I had been thinking about making it with craft foam like any other armor, but I have no idea how to keep it on! Are there any other suggestions? I'm also having trouble with the same problem concerning the piece wrapped around the knees and right above the knees.

If anyone has any suggestions, it would be much appreciated!

There are a few methods.

But I think you can just wear stockings with lots of Velcro pieces on it as you can just attach the armor on which should be form fitting.

I'm trying to figure out how exactly to make the armor around the calf form- fitting. As for the armor around the knees, I can clamp them on with velcro, no problem.

Apparently you misread, because I mentioned that I was going to use craft foam.

calf's are always tricky.

One way you could make a clay mold out and create the foam armor from it.

Another would be to wrap the area of your leg with a plastic wrap and paper mache over it. after getting a few layers, drying it, and cutting it off it should be exactly to your specifications as you can build the foam around it.

But then for some you can just eyeball it and hope you can mathematically get it right.

Ugh, it's so annoyingly true. I'm trying to avoid using any clay and similar things that may weigh it down, even if it's just a little. I found vinyl stockings that may suffice, though, if I simply sew or paint a white line underneath the knee, then add the armor and such. Thanks for the help!
