Gumi (Mozaik Role) Shirt Help

Anyways, I was wondering how I could go about making the shirt from GUMI's Mozaik Role (x), which reminds me of Namie Yagiri from Drrr!! and her ugly sweater/shirt thing (x) if it helps with the idea of mixing fabrics in this style.

Also here's a picture of what a costume store made, which is very accurate yet seemingly impossible to make (x)

I don't know how to go about making it, whether I should make the collar, top and bottom all separates, or if I should make the top something that goes over a shirt with a collar :/ OR I make something similar to a corset... I'm just super confused and... yeah. Thanks in advance for advice.

Well the way I made mine was to take two t-shirts and cut them apart and put them together again. The shirts can be altered to have the seam down the middle and as for the collar, well you could either make one and attach it to the top or take one from a different shirt and attach it on.

I hope I explained it well enough....

YEP. I would go about it the same way Touchmon is talking about. If I start from scratch, I'll still cut my shirt pattern in half anyways and attach them together later (sleeves and collar of course would be separate too). Yeah, personally the only way I see is that's pretty much the only way to go on about it. Good luck now!

No problem! Just take your time with the planning on the sewing and I'm sure it'll turn out fine! The process hopefully will be fine and the finished product will look great for sure! Happy sewing now!
