Sokka Help

So, i'm going as Sokka to an upcoming con, and I've gotten a lot of great matterials to make his costume with. I can't for the life of me, however, find the damn flat beads to make his necklace out of, OR foam core to make his boomerang. I guess that's where i am stuck. I'll post picture of materials i'm using and the picture i'm going off of.

Anywho, i'm getting desperate, so any help is appreciated.

They're in the wrong direction but you could use some kind of beading wire, some e6000, and peices of felt over the wire on the back to put them in the right direction. Then thread some white thread through the holes, criss cross in between the beads to keep them from buckling funny
