Merida Wig help
Part of this is just me thinking out loud and seeing what comes back, and part of this is me genuinely asking for advice.
So, I'm going to cosplay Merida for a con sometime this year. (Not for quite a while, so I have time to work on this) And after having decided for sure that I'm using an Arda wig (I absolutely love their stuff), I'm left with three options. One is my "practical" option, and two are my "OH GOD WANT" options. The practical option is just getting the Merry wig in Pumpkin and teasing it, like this girl did: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ardawig...57631793465536 To this, I would probably add a couple of wefts of lighter colour just for effect, since Merida's hair is very dimensional. The first "OH GOD WANT" option (and my absolute favourite) is this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ardawig...57629855627173 She got the Glinda wig and two curly clips and added them together. I absolutely love the affect of this, but I'm worried about if I'll actually be able to do it (skills-wise), and if I'll be able to afford it. The second "OH GOD WANT" option is more just for the potential challenge of creating it, because I like to torture myself with my costumes for some reason: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ardawig...57629855627173 THIS lovely woman took the Glinda wig on top and the Claudia wig on the bottom. And crap, guys, it worked. My favourite option really is the second, but I'm worried it's gonna get to pricey, and I'm not even sure how she got it to look like that, so I wouldn't know what I was doing. Would I need the long curly clip? If I were to do that, I'd probably get the long curly clip and then just make the curls tighter myself, since the Glinda wig isn't long enough, and the regular one wouldn't really extend the length any. GAH. I'm sorry. I'm kind of having massive OCD moments about her hair because it really is Merida's defining physical aspect. Any advice, personal experience, or opinions are welcome. ^_^ ~KatyCruel |

I'm going to cosplay Merida too, but I can't afford Arda Wigs because I'm spanish and the shipping it's more expensive >___<
My option is bought this Merida wig in ebay, it looks really nice and have a lot of hair and a beautifull color. Two friends of mine have bought it before and they're very pleased. http://www.ebay.com/itm/321022094669... 4.m1438.l2649 |

I personal find stack really easy which is what option 2 and 3 did. I so wanted Claudia in pumpkin for that reason but alas they didn't have it at the time.
Here is my tutorial on stacking. You don't need to buy the wigs i got but the effects are the same wig different wigs. http://www.warpaintandunicorns.com/2...th-merida.html

I think I'm probably gonna do the second one, price be damned. I just love how it turned out, and better to get it exactly how I want it the first time then have to do it twice. (Plus, I have until Summer to do this.)
