As the title says, I am wanting to temporarily make the edge around the soles of my boots gold like you see here.

The boots are ones that I use for many different cosplays hence why I am not wanting to do anything permanent. I know buying another pair is an option but I really can't buy another similar pair right now.

So does anyone have any ideas? I have yet to make any attempts myself, but I was thinking of maybe using some kind of tape? Can you remove acrylic paints from rubber soles?

id go with like gold duct tape.

Agreed. Metallic gold foil tape.

Make sure to remove it as soon as you're done with the cosplay, or it'll leave sticky residue that'll be a bear to clean off.

Yeah, that is what I had in mind. I had also had thought about trying something like these.

It ultimately depends on what I can get my hands on. I am also going to try coloring masking tape and see how that looks and works out.

Tape, whether you use gold tape or paint over masking tape with gold paint, should work alright.

Is painting the soles gold, then painting it back over with the first color, out of the question? I think if you don't plan on using the boots for two cosplays at the same time, you can get away with painting the soles.
