My 1st cosplay damage was accidentally spilling coffee on a rare fabric given to me by my aunt. Then when i cleaned up i noticed a wierd color stain that is a big as a quarter. Thank god my sister knows how to remove the stain from it.

I had a mascot head that was textured with hot glue and then painted. We were in Chicago in the middle of summer and had left it in the back of the van. It proceeded to melt and adhere itself to the back window. When we got back, it was all staring balefully out the back window completely flat on that side. ^_^;

Blood....Well I wouldn't say it's "ruined" but there's a spot that won't come out on the white bias tape of my Minato (persona 3) cosplay because I hand sewn it on and stabbed myself lol

I was washing my default (yellow/blue) Ranka Lee dress last week since I was gonna sell it since I knew I wasn't planning on wearing it anymore. After it started drying, I noticed that the red thread that I used to sew on the red beads, the red dye ran all down the bottom of the dress! ;____; So, not only is the dye all over the bottom of the dress, I know there is no way to get it off now. I painfully have to throw it out.

My brother and I did the same thing with our first prop. It was a lifesize iron maiden/coffin and we relied almost entirely on hot glue (oh, so young and naive...). We left in the car in a Sacramento summer. The pieces pretty much just slid off when we took it out. Haha, lesson learned.

More recently, my utter lack of grace resulted in me dropping a weapon prop commissioned by a friend. It was already pretty fragile, but somehow I only dented part and cracked another. I was able to finish it in the hotel room at the con and remained paranoid until I could return it to its owner.

I went as Lenalee Lee from D.Gray-Man in her second uniform. My uniform was made out of pleather and I just adored my costume. If you guys have watched D.Gray-Man, every Exorcist has the Black Cross symbol on their uniform. Mine was one of those metal cross where you simply had to pin the symbol onto your costume. As I was walking, a Zexion cosplayer literally attacked me, then glomped me to the point where it was difficult to breath and said "I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!", then spun me for like 2 mins. I can't stand anything spinney so I don't visit many amusement parks. This guy, at first I didn't know who he was until one of my friends told me that he was this person I knew but I din't know it was him since I haven't seen him for a couple months. I later found out my cross pin snapped so I couldn't pin my cross back into the shirt. Worse, the pleather ripped. A nice con goer noticed my problem and fixed my costume while we were eating lunch. I was extremely grateful.

Though I am grateful to have gotten my costume fixed, I am still angry that these kind of people don't take precaution and worse, don't say sorry.

Blood on a skirt ruined my Rainbow Brite cosplay... thankfully I had only planned to wear it the two times I was able to!

My third attempt at Zelda's dress was ruined by the hangar I had the dress on... I never thought that a plastic hangar could put a run in fabric but it did and I couldn't even patch the area since it just looked terrible. Attempt #4 at that stupid dress to come yet! Maybe.
