Taking in the waist of a dress?

I would like to take the waist of this dress in. I have done some research but I'm not sure the best method of it. There is a zipper on the side. It needs to go in about an inch at the waist. How should I go about it?

this is a terrible dress to take in
to do it correctly, you will have to undo the waist 3/4 of the way around to take in the bodice without messing up the gold & lace trim on the waist. Otherwise the half circles will be weird wedges and the lace lumpy in the taken in areas.

While you apparently feel it needs to be skin hugging, it doesn't look bad or baggy in any way. It looks good now. I'm going to call this "more effort than it's worth" and say just enjoy being able to move easily in it.

I'm inclined to agree with Penlowe. It looks fine, and as you say it only needs an inch losing, it hardly seems worth the effort.
