Inuyasha Costume and items...

I am currently wanting to attend a local convention (100 miles "local"), and I am interested in having an Inuyasha costume there.

I have the following:

Costume:
Front and Back

Neck and Shoulder:

Lower Side:

Necklace:

I can try and make the Tetsusaiga 2.0 from the prop forum ( might just buy, looks tough ^_^;; )

I also need to find a good wig that suits Inuyasha.

Anyone have any tips or ideas?

Wow! That's a nice-looking costume!

As for the wig, I'm sure I've seen them on eBay labelled specifically for Inu-Yasha, but I don't know how much I'd trust them, personally. I know the Cher wig from Witchwigs.com is popular for Inu-Yasha, but you'd probably be doing a bit of altering on your own if you want it to be perfectly accurate. Ears shouldn't be too hard to come by.. Again, check eBay, because there's generally a pair or two there that you can sew onto your wig. ^_^

Good luck with your costume! I hope I helped a bit.

I would suggest buying a real wig made from Eleora Fiber. I've seen many beautiful Inuyasha costumes out there, but combined with are some majorly crappy wigs! >_<

I honestly don't understand were an additional $50 could be that hard to shovel out for a high quality, distinct part of the outfit.

As for the ears, attempt making them yourself if you wish to participate in contests and such. Most (probably all) conventions require that you make the costume yourself...

I'm actually working on my Inuyasha ears now... ^_^

I made my Inu ears out of fleece, and they turned out really nice. ^__^
I was just talking about Inuyasha wigs last night with a friend. It would be next to impossible to find a really accurate great wig, but having a high quality wig in the right style and color is a must. It doesn't matter how nice your costume is if you have an ugly wig, because that is all that the people will be looking at. o.O

Don't make your ears out of fur. >.< He's a dog, not a bunny!

With Inuyasha ears, go for small, triangular, and set far apart on the wig. And yes, I do agree with the fur making the ears too "bunny-like". A lot of people who know zilch about anime usually assume an Inuyasha cosplayer to be either a "cat" or a "rabbit"...Also, Inuyaha's ears are somewhat "folded"...don't know how to describe this the right way, but go find a good headshot of the dog demon and you might see what I mean. ^^;

The wig...yes, finding the right wig for him is rather hard, I agree. In fact, none really exist that would be perfect for him, you have to style and alter to get it done right. His bangs are very "fluffy" and poofed out, and extend farther back than most wig's bangs are set. Not to mention the length and thickness of his hair, in general. You might even have to use extensions for him. I did see one good Inuyasha-type wig made, but it was way too short and extensions would probably have been needed if you want to get the length part accurate. Getting his wig commissioned might cost a good bit...even a wig artist knows it's a complex design with a lot of hair involved. ^^; But if you want to try to style it on your own or something, go for it, and keep lots of reference pics handy. Though wig styling isn't as easy as it sounds, I found out the hard way. XD
