BRS & Dead Master Prop Help

So, my friends are doing a Black Rock Shooter cosplay for AWA this September.
But the props are an issue because we're trying to find a way to make them inexpensive and lightweight.

What we're trying to figure how to make is the BRS Cannon;

Which is the main issue since it's so bulky and such.
Now, a lot really can't be afforded for it, so if anyone knows of a cheap way to go about this and might have a tutorial it'd be greatly appreciated!

Second this is Dead Master's wings.
Not so much as how to MAKE them, but how they can be attached when she wears an open-back dress;

And finally, the blue flame over BRS's eye;

Any advice, tips, tutorials or general help for this would be greatly appreciated!!

I recently made the blue eye flame for somebody using Lexan (plexiglass is fine too). I cut it out with a jigsaw and then painted it with glass paints. The best way to attach the flame is really via prosthetic glue such as Pros-Aide (I think spirit gum would be too weak for such a large prosthetic attached in a precarious place, and also spirit gum should be limited in use around the eye since it's an irritant.

You should generally use an electric blade such as an electric jigsaw, bandsaw, or scrollsaw to cut plexiglass, so if you don't have one, consider using a softer material like transparency sheets or thin styrene. You'll have to improvise a bit in that case to make sure the material is stiff enough so it won't bend while you're wearing it.

Here's a photo: http://gerodere.deviantart.com/#/d2rjdg8

The side of it closest to the nose (round edge) is transparent to help the wearer see; then there is a gradient merging into opaque blue for the rest of the flame.

Hope it helps some!

Cachalot's Eye flame looks awesome.
I'm faced/facing this situation myself as I wanted to make the cannon for a friend and deathmaster for another.

For my eye flame i went for something a bit simpler and cheaper.

Basically a blue binder divider cut out in whatever flame shape you want, a few other pieces layered a top and presto. It's light enough where spirit gum can be used to hold it in place.

As for BRS cannon. i was going to use someones tutorial on here on how they made Ovan's (.hack) arm casket as a basic idea for the thing...currently trying to find it again. I did find these with the same basic idea:
PrinceMercury1 - http://www.cosplay.com/photo/1447496/
Just lots of cardboard shaping...I've also seen one using LEDs to make the inside of the barrel glow (Really cool looking)

And then there's Deathmaster's wings. I ran a few ideas to work with myself. Constructing the wings and spirit guming them on would prove to be painful and dangerous. I figured a possable route was to instead attached them to a clear strap (like how some dresses have to hold up a dress without being to noticable) Could have one across the mid back and then two others to shoulder for better support.

There may be other ways but these were just ideas i had come up with for when i start working on them.

If you want to trade ideas, feel free to drop me a line. I'm not workign on them yet but I'm gettign a head starton how I plan to accomplish all that I want to do.

Cannon

I used this tutorial to make the cannon but then I had to modify it slightly due to the materials I had. I can explain my process in bulk if you want.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZWXU...ure=plpp_video

For Dead Master's wings, my friend saw this person make them out of blue insulation foam and paint them all shiny, and then had it attached with a harness that was hidden by the dress. http://www.cosplay.com/costume/365543/

For the eye flame, I've seen a few methods. One is to use the binder dividers, I've seen one using blue feathers, I saw someone use blue plastic bottle, basically people use pretty much anything for it. The tutorial I think I'm going to use when I make mine will be making it out of resin with dye added to it. The tutorial s for White Rock Shooter, but just change the ink color. http://decemberwynn.deviantart.com/a...rial-286450912
