I don't know if this is the right place to post this thread; it's been a while since I've been on here. But you guys have been helpful on answering my questions in the past, so I'm here again.

I'm not for sure when Dragoncon is, but it has come to my attention that I may be able to go to a convention sometime closer to summertime. (I live in the South NE part of the US).

Anyway, my question is: What is a good website(s) to shop for really legitimate costumes? I'm looking to cosplay as Tifa Lockhart (just in case you'd like to know who I'd like to go as).

Please let me know. Even if these plans don't pan out, it would be nice to know for the future too.

First, No idea if this is where to post this question lol There really isn't an online buying help forum so....
Anyway, which version? If you are doing normal game tifa, then don't buy online..You will spend WAY too much..If it's the other versions of her, I think cosplaymagic is one of the better looking ones..

I'd recommend commissioning someone from the Marketplace section of these forums. They're guaranteed to be of high quality, so it'll look nicer, and why not help out another cosplayer?

I woulda said commission but for the fabric that needs to be used, that commission will cost quite a bit more..I mean yea, the quality SHOULD be better (be carefull who you commission, do research) but if you just want something to wear and don't want the best wquality, don't commission

I'm down to doing either Tifa. I just want to find a good costume that's of good quality and looks very close to the actual getup.

Well I still say if you want to save a ton of money doing the game version (white tank, black mini skirt) go to a thrift store..You can find a skirt for like $5 (my dad's gf got a perfect one for that) a tank for like $2 and boots for like $6 That's $13....Online or commissioned you are looking at about $100..Just for that same one..

Just like Shirayuki said, commissioning someone would probably get you a really good deal/come very close to the look (since anyone who's a cosplayer themselves would look at the details and try to achieve it as close as they possibly can-- depending on their skill level). And just as Jason said, definitely do your research.
