Oh, Hello!

I having been doing some research to cosplay as Temari some time in the near future, and I just had some questions for anyone who has cosplayed as her or has an idea of how this might work.

I was planning on doing this outfit. I'm confident that I could make the dress and everything just fine.

Where I run into issues is when she has her fan strapped to her back. It's shown in one episode that comes to mind, and it looks like this:

The problems arise when I try to figure out how the fan attaches to the little back pack straps. Every time I look at the ones you can buy, the straps are tied into a bow.

Any ideas as to how that might work?

I'm assuming the fan slips out of the grey bit?
In that case I think the red string will be attached into the grey part, so it is anchored down, with the red string running tightly throughout it.
