Fabric help for Kyubey Costume

So I've been killing myself over what kind of fabric to use for my Kyubey cosplay, and it's like every time I find something I like, I can never really find a matching consistency for the trim and ribbon.

There are a lot of nice broadcloth swatches I found at my local fabric store, but I don't know if it'd be wise to use a broadcloth trim for the waist/ruffle if the whole of the costume is going to be a knit fabric of some sort? It would have to be, wouldn't it?

Basically I have no idea how to go about this, and it'd be great if someone could steer me in the right direction. e_e'

Here's my reference:

There's no law that says you can't mix fabric types! Just ensure that if a portion of the knit garment needs to stretch, you don't sew it to a non-stretch woven material.

The airy light pink petals around the neck and bottom hem might look well in a chiffon or other gauzy material.
