Don't even get me started on the people who say "Seiramuun". Or the guy who unironically used the phrase "Fainaru Fantaji Sebun: Adobento Chirudoren".

(The Community link for those who don't know what that is - and if you don't shame on you)

Also some good points, and as mentioned in prior posts, definitely bring emergency stitch up repair kit for cosplay. It can definitely come in handy from experience.

Alright, so, on the subject of eating places... Well, we all know about the famous Harvey's and its surrounding Plaza of Food... XD

I recommend Subway, for the record. And for a nice snack, the convenience store! Both have fast-moving lines and great prices.

That's a great idea. Do you think people would actually read it?

Anyone who's eaten at the Japanese place in the Doubletree, any tips for those planning to eat there?

I've seen it posted in previous years on this forum, but it goes without saying that you've gotta reserve well in advance. I'd almost be willing to say, you should probably call the hotel up itself and ask if you can reserve before the con (if that is at all possible). I'd actually be interested in hearing a response myself on this.

Don't know about that one, but I ate at the Japanese place close to Harvey's and I found the food to be good. I also didn't have to deal with lineups but that was more from choosing to eat lunch at 11am unlike most people.

^YES to this! Last year my best friend and I stopped there for a quick dinner before the Maquerade (we figured we'd try something other than Harvey's for a change ) and found it to be quick (especially considering the time of day!), delicious and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this place.

Don't. it's SO not worth it. It's three times what the other two sushi places charge (a $25 dinner got me a glass of water, six small sushi rolls and six pieces of nigiri sushi that I couldn't even eat, thanks to the chef liberally covering everything in wasabi which I can't even have a FLECK of on my food or it burns horribly), and they smear wasabi on EVERYTHING. If you don't like spice, you won't be able to eat your food at all. The only things I'll eat from there are their onigiri during the con. THOSE are worth it.

Ah alright then:
The Green Room for the Skit Contest (and Masquerade) are located in the Plaza Ballroom Foyer of the Double Tree. If you've never been there it is down the hallway with the pool and spas, and upstairs. Time to be there is : TBA

If I may, I'd like to add some tips about staying healthy and avoiding 'Con Plague'. I don't have the greatest immune system, so I've been trying out a few different methods for staying healthy while in con spaces:

AVOIDING CON PLAGUE
- Get enough sleep, wash your hands and shower
- Mouthwash! It's useful for disinfecting your toothbrush before use as well as it's intended purpose of killing germs in your mouth. If you're a wimp like me and it's too strong for you, cut it with a little water and gargle it.
- Herbal tea. Antioxidants! Energizer AND sleep aid!
- Vitamin C. A quick google search can tell you that it's not a legitimate cure or preventative measure against the cold, but it's still good for you and helps boost energy.
- If you take medication regularly, don't forget to pack it and take it on time! I've gotten sick from "crashing" before because of forgetting dosages
- If you have a hotel, take the time to rest and get away from crowds.
