Painting eyeglasses

OK, here's the issue, I'm working on the glasses for a cosplay of an OC of mine, I bought a pair of yellow glasses and then bought some transparent blue paint (the idea is to make them heterochromatic) which works exactly as I wanted, but at the first try I tried to remove one of the glasses to paint it and it's impossible, there are no screws to remove and it's fully sunk on the frame, I tried to cover the frame with paper but it's too thin, I tried painting it normally first and then removing the excess from the frame which worked good at the beginning, but when removing excess I ended removing part of the paint which was in a part of the glass and I had to remove all the paint.

Do you know any other method to paint the glass safely?

Blue painter's tape. Either lay the tape along the edge perpendicular to the lens, or tape it overlapping the lens, then go over the lens perimeter with an x-acto knife and peel up all the tape that's on the lens. After painting the lens, peel up the masking tape while the paint is still ever so slightly wet, or you risk chipping the paint like you did last time.

You can also potentially use liquid frisket, which is essentially liquid latex. It's sold at the hobby shop. You carefully paint the stuff onto the frame and let it dry. then paint the lens as normal. Then, while the paint is still ever so slightly wet, you peel up or rub off the frisket. However, this stuff sounds cooler than it is. It has a tendency to gum up making it hard to brush

I already tried that, but the frames are too thin.

To give you a clue, the glasses are exactly like these ones.

If they're wire frames, you can just use some extra muscle and pop them out, or you can touch a soldering iron the the hinges until the solder releases. Then you have to resolder them. using a clamp to hold them shut temporarily.

That or just use the painter's tape + xacto knife technique.

Hmm, no, there are no wires, they're a completely circular solid frame but extremely thin, I guess I should check if it's plastic or metal to see if it's possible to pop the glass out and not break it, I already tried but I couldn't, I guess I'll need more muscle.
