Noob Help.
So its my second time cosplaying and I want to go as Ryu from Street Fighter. Whats the tool I need to fray the gi and the pant legs. I want it to have the worn look not the clean cut look. Any other tips would be nice. Thanks.

I think nail files (probably the steal type) are supposed to work pretty good.

You could start at it with scissors to give it a general shape, then use sandpaper to give it a worn look.

If your fabric is something that frays, there's also cutting it for the shape you want, running a straight stitch along the edge about 1/4 inch in, then washing it. That'd give it a little bit of a frayed look.
We usually just used the cut/stitch/washer method, a rasp. or sandpaper when we weathered things for plays. Nail files weren't that great for covering large areas, but worked well for small detailing. |
