Guilty as charged. I'm of a mind that if something has a name, eventually it will tell you. I pretty much just name my bicycles and computers.

Computers have been Narcissa, POS, Lucas (seaquest reference), and my current netbook is Sera (for Serendipity. She's named that because I found a pair of diamond earrings in the couch, my previous computer died conveniently a few days before, so I sold the earrings and was able to buy Sera. True story. Hence my username.)

I'd had my fixie bike for a year before I finally figured out her name is Jiraiya (yes, after Yosuke's persona. I admit it. Nerdness. It hit me on the ride home at the beginning of this January like a slap in the face.) She's sky blue with orange and white affectations and tires, a rainbow stripe, and orange pedals (I know, dorky). She threw me last August during a rain storm just before I got a road bike --that was later stolen. ((My bicycle is my car.)). Oddly, as soon as I accepted that my bike's name is Jiraiya, she's been a lot easier to ride, even though the color scheme is more Suzano'o...

My previous Hybrid bike (sold) was named "Sassy." She didn't listen to a word I said. My next bike (sold), a 1976 English touring bike I fixed up was named Izzy (it was a red Raleigh sprite. "Izzy" is the name of the fire sprite in my novel, "Itara"), my current beach cruiser is "Daphne," --because Scooby Doo, and my stolen Roadbike was named "Marbles." Well, my Marbles rolled away.

I feel like I need a collection of Master pokeballs for all my bikes.

I named my ipad Laptop, fridge, my galaxy s1.
I named my ipad Seme because i see lots of seme looking guys at the airports using ipads , laptop Uke because i see uke-ish looking guys using laptops to play video games , and my android galaxy Cellphone Latte because this yaoi manga i read was so cute and the seme said that the galaxy is really the colour of Latte and he loves galaxies so much because they interest him and my phone is a galaxy( well the brand). I just had to name it Latte. Oh and my fridge's name is baby because it's my baby. My love, the one who keeps my food fresh and cool.

I named my computers, two of them. The first one was my laptop, which sucked, so when I brought it to a LAN party with my friends and they introduced me to their gaming systems, I showed them my laptop and said: "And this is crappy" After which my friends told me to change the name of my pc to crappy. I thought 'crappy' was a horrible name, so I went with KRAPPY. After I finally got a new computer I named it KRAPPY Mk.II, just for fun.

I've sort of named my current laptop Goliath/Giant/Humongo or some other variation on names that mean big. It has a /massive/ screen, so that's where the name comes from.

Just got a new computer -- I'm typing on it now!
In keeping tradition with my bicycle being "Jiraiya" --master of wind, I needed a strong name for my new desktop. Something that nothing can defeat: no viruses, or demons, or acts of God, where it will start for me every time, kick it up a notch online, and happily support Minecraft (this has yet to be tested.) It will be on the front lines of battle with a blood stained sword, and do it will a smile.

My new computer's name....... "Tomoe." The rare female ass-kicking samurai.

I have this bad habit of referring to my phone as whoever's currently on my wallpaper (because it's usually a character.) So although my friends are very familiar with this, when I'm with someone I don't know and I say "Dammit, I left Jason in my bed this morning" (Jason Todd is currently my wallpaper, lol), and they give me the O.O WHAT face.

Also, I don't know if it counts because it's not mine, but my friend's car is this ridiculously massive green van, and so we call it The Hulk. Also have another friend who has a gold car, and on the first day she got it, her words were, "Alright bitches. THIS IS STARK."

I generally name my instruments (the legit ones, not so much the "fun/toy" ones.)

My trumpet's named "Maria." I've had her for almost 8 years now. The trumpet that came before her was my Dad's, so I didn't name it.
My Electric Guitar (a Les Paul) is "Izzy." Short for Isabella. Got her as a graduation gift.
My Acoustic is named "Hope." had her for 3 years.
The Electric i learned to play on (4.5 years ago), is broken internally beyond repair. She's "Faith."

I have no real method for naming them. I just let the names come to me.
