Doctor Who cosplay help?

Hello! I've recently gotten really into Doctor Who. I've started watching the 2005 series and am currently about half way through season 3. I want to cosplay as someone or something from doctor who but it seems it may be a bit difficult with me being a girl. I can't really cosplay as one of his companions since their outfits constantly change and are usually not that recognizable. It would be easier if I had a "Doctor Who" to go with but I don't. All the other women in the series seem to be these crazy monsters with near impossible costumes. And yes, I've seen the women dressed as sexy Daleks or the Tardis but I'm looking for something else. As I haven't watched the entire series yet, I'm sure there are some things I haven't seen so any suggestions? Thanks!

The possibilities are huge then.

There are many kinds of characters in the Doctor Who universe.

It's just a matter of choosing one you're most comfortable with. So in this context what are your preferences as I can then offer up what I can?

Really you can do whatever you want. The companions are actually pretty recognizable. as are genderbent doctor cosplays, or Daleks or the Tardis, really you can do whatever you want! (:

There's a Doctor Who fourm down in the Tv section of the forums. You might want to check there!

I'm around 5'4" with long dark brown curly hair and dark brown eyes. I'm a little overweight, pretty busty, and very curvy so I don't want anything too revealing or too tight fitting. Nothing where my stomach would be exposed or anything that would run more than 3"-4" above the knee. I wouldn't mind crazy make-up and am comfortable with wigs as well.

Despite the large wardrobe, the companions have a few outfits that are iconic and very recognizable to the character. I'll give you examples based on the new series:

Rose Tyler:
Union Jack t-shirt, denim jacket and pants (Empty Child/Doctor Dances)
blue leather jacket, pink shirt (Stolen Earth/Journey's End)

Martha Jones:
red/burgundy leather jacket and blue jeans (her general outfit)

Donna Noble:
brown leather long coat, dark blue jeans (most episodes)

Amy Pond:
puffy red sweater, dark blue/black mini-skirt, dark tights (Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone)
black business suit and eyepatch (The Wedding of River Song)

Captain Jack Harkness:
navy blue trench coat, sky blue polo shirt, red suspenders, black/ash gray casual pants (Torchwood)

Or perhaps K-9?

i saw an awesome step by step with lots of pictures tutorial online for a weeping angel, just google 'weeping angel cosplay tutorial' it looked like a lot of work, but not too difficult - and it would be stunning and hard to miss for fans of the show
