Help With Fabric Paint?

I got some red fabric paint (http://shop.hobbylobby.com/assets/1/...oom/839530.jpg) for some blood spatters I want to paint on a fleece hat. The paint ended up a bit too much of a pinkish red so I was wondering what color I could add to it to make it more of a blood red. Also, would it be a bad idea to mix a bit of normal paint with the fabric paint if it is not that much and I can't find the needed color?

Tulip Soft paint sucks. Their colors are all screwed up.

Red is a primary color, so if you don't have true red to begin with, you'll never be able to achieve it by mixing in other colors.

You might be able to get closer to blood red (a dark red) by mixing in a few drops of yellow, brown, black, and maybe a hint of dark blue, but you won't really be able to get the right shade because you need a true red to start with. And anyway, instead of buying 3 or 4 more bottles of paint and trying to mix it, I'd just go to an entirely different brand and buy one bottle of a true red. Jacquard has a true red several of their fabric paint lines.

Standard acrylic paint does not have the flexibility or the texture for applying to fabric. You need fabric paint. There are fabric mediums you can mix in to turn other acrylics into fabric paint, just use good quality paint.
