I've read up on the policies twice now and the only thing that remotely mentions the distribution of goods happens to be this excerpt:
Activity not sponsored by the Anime ExpoŽ and/or an enterprise(s) engaged in business at the Anime ExpoŽ, without complying with the Anime ExpoŽ's rules for such activity. This includes, without limitation, the solicitation of money or other contributions or donations, or distribution of commercial advertising or promotional material of any kind, or offering samples of items which are sold, available for sale, or available in exchange for a donation or contribution.
I'll be cosplaying as the mascot of a K-Pop idol group and seeing as it's rare for people to notice who I'm dressed as, I thought it would be nice to bring some lollipops and hand them out as a "hey, thanks for recognizing me!" gesture. I'm not sure if this is against Anime Expo's code of conduct and I'd like to know for sure if I can bring these lollipops so I don't end up with extra baggage being misinformed.
The lollipops have the idol group's mascot logo thing on it just as decoration, not really for personal commercial use or "promotional" purposes. It's not for a business of any sort, nor will I ask for donations or contributions in exchange for the lollies. However, I realize the con staff running the bag check might find these gifts to be against the con rules.
Anyone mind helping me out with an answer? I'm stumped.
