C2E2 cosplay contest questions
I'm with Wikia, and we're working on some events at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo in April. I posted this message over in "finding cosplayers" but thought this might be a better forum area to post within.
We have a super active anime and manga community on Wikia, and would love to try to organize a costume contest for anime and manga cosplayers, but I'm worried that we may be going too narrow by limiting it to just those categories. I'd love to hear from anyone here about suggestions on this. Does anyone else here think we're going too narrow? Also, I'd love to hear if any of you know if there's a good crowd of cosplayers at C2E2? We know it's a pretty new show. Thanks!! Annette |

There's a good amount of cosplayers at c2e2, but the majority of them are based on Western properties- DC/Marvel, MLP, MSPA, Doctor Who etc. You may want to expand your contest to feature, manga, anime and Japanese video games (Final Fantasy, Capcom, etc) to reach a broader audience.

Yeah, I wasn't sure either, but - since C2E2 didn't have its own subforum - I thought I'd try my luck. Thanks for the advice here. This is super helpful. We'll work on our plan for the contest and I'll definitely post details here. Can you recommend the best spot on the forum to promote? Thanks again!
