I've finished my gourd, and I'm actually pretty proud of it.(: However, it doesn't look round enough, but is that an issue to anyone other than me?

Also, I tired doing some make-up, which involved covering my eyebrows. The gluestick method didn't work but I'm looking at buying that waxy stuff. Instead of waiting though, I tried applying skin coloured face paint which covered my brows, but then went the smallest bit crusty. From a distance, you can't tell though. Does it look okay or need improvements?

I abselutly love the make up! Very Very well done! That red sign on your head is the perfect size and looks realy neat. Your brows are covered very well.

That gourd is indeed a bit off shape, I think it's mostly the iron/plastic bar you've got runnning true it and it's very visable.

I've seen a tutorial once where they used 2 big beachballs (or huge balloons ofc), taped together with ducktape (a lille squished together) and then fully papiermaché'ed, looked awesome and very heavy (allthough it wasn't ofcourse). By doing the taping the two bals are a bit squished on eachother because Gaara's gourd doesnt exists of 2 seperate balls but a more 8-like shape so the surface where they touch is a bit bigger.

Your painting on it looks very well done though, I'm very curious about the finished result!

Yeah, I wanted to do it that way, but could I find anything round and the size I need? Nope. No where. So I just had to make do.

Yeah I'm doing the hair. Just have to wait for the wig to arrive. Perhaps the hair will take away attention from my eyebrows? O.o

Well, I used some embroidery hoops (http://www.birchhaby.com.au/datafile...dery_hoops.JPG) and hot glued them together. Then put wrapping paper around the outside so it gave shape then started to paper mache it all. Except finding everything, it was easy. And the gourd is so light!

Just curious, how exactly did you do the glue stick method and why didn't it work?

It might have been the setting powder I used, but my browse were still visible underneath. I followed different techniques on YouTube, but that was the first time I tried. So maybe it'll improve over time.

Looking at the gourd:

You say it isn't round enough, and that's true, but what I found most noticeable was the middle. It's way too thin. Compare it to for example this image. I'd bulk it up quite a bit.

Looks great! For Gaara you should test out making your lips pale. The gourd looks great! I wish i had a lighter gourd. Just wrap like a cheap fleece around it to hide the thin part. If you want to try contacts, the aquamesh ones at foureyez.com are perfect! ^.^ Just becareful not to put them in backwards. :P
