I was hoping someone had some info for me. This is my first year attending Sakura. When I booked the hotel, I saw how much they stressed no room stuffing. At the time I didn't care as it was going to be 4 of us in the room. But now I have a 5th. Can I tell the hotel, or will they give me a problem? Is 5 really an issue anyway? I know at past cons in the east coast, we have had almost 7 in a room, and that to me is room stuffing, lol. Was just wondering. I dont want to risk being charged the full non-discounted rate. But wanted to ask here before calling the hotel. :P

Not that i can think off, but i think it might be a fire code hazard.... Then again i always ended up finding 5+ roomies for cons. Then again, it all depends on how big the room is and if there is a good spot for the 5th person to sleep (couch etc)

Li's right. I actually asked the hotel I was last SC and they gave me that exact reason. Truth is, Unless you go upstairs at night, with more then 4 people, they'll never notice....We had all 4 people in the room after like 10pm and one of the guys had his gf in there for a good hour or 2 and no one even saw her come in..They would have never even known she was there..They are more preoccupied with room parties and other annoyances that some con goers bring (like being wasted and making tons of noise or something).

I would call anyway just to be on the safe side, then if they say it's ok, then I guess no worries, but if not, Just go ahead, it's only ONE person..

On a side note, some photels have an extras cot that they will bring into the room (some are in the room, depends on hotel) specifically for a 5th person.

I wouldn't really worry about it. Usually hotels really only care if you are being loud. They know people are room stuffing. They KNOW. Lots of people do it. If you are being loud and disruptive they will ask you to leave but if you are quiet, keep your room clean and not destroy the bathroom or bedding you should be fine.
